My lovely daughter has been begging to straighten my hair with her new electic hair-thingy, so I let her do it today. Before and after!

Curlicue necklace/scarves

I've been really enjoying doing these! About one ball of yarn each, they're great stashbusters. I can just about finish one in 45 minutes, I think (will have to time the next one).  These will be great to sell at the Xmas market - not very expensive!

Santa ornaments

I'm trying to do some Santa ornaments, but it ain't easy! I found a really cute one on Pinterest, but the directions are in Polish.... Maybe my renter can help? I don't know if she crochets, tho. So I tried anyway just by looking at the graph, and here's the result:

So I tried with other yarn, still not good but better:

Now I went back to Pinterest and found a new design. This is looking much better!

I'm much happier with this! Just going to add some little black eyes and a loop to hang it with. These are perhaps going to be for the US Xmas market in December! 

Now for the final version - woo hoo!

Cutting my losses

I've been working on a sweater for a while, but decided to dump the whole project. I didn't really like the silver threads knit into the fuzziness. Plus the fact that the piece I started on is supposed to be the back, but ended up being twice as wide as it should be. I just knit too loosely, and even though I used needles one size smaller, it didn't help. So now I have a scarf! The rest of the yarn will have to wait until I can gather my thoughts and decide plan B. I figure it's better to stop now than end up with something I don't even like.
